It's that time of year to decorate your front porch for Halloween night. To get you ready, I've gathered 57 cute cat pumpkin carving patterns that you can download right now, for free.

I carved a few different Halloween pumpkins this year, and cats seem to be the theme.

I already carved a mini pumpkin using actual mini stencils and a linoleum cutter.

And this time I wanted to carve a large pumpkin with a cute cat pumpkin carving type of design. Mostly what I've come across is more of the black cat drawings style like I carved on my mini pumpkin.

So I went on a long search and after quite a bit of deep digging, I finally found a few cat carving templates. This led me to a few more, which eventually led to a goldmine!

And since I know I'm not the only cat lover out there, I thought I would share my findings. Oh by the way, did I mention these cat pumpkin patterns are free?

Tips For Using A Pumpkin Template To Carve A Cat Design

Check the pumpkin for soft spots. Soft spots are an early indication the pumpkin is starting to rot.
Print the pattern download in black and white
If you will use a real candle to light the inside of the pumpkin, make your cut at the top of the pumpkin to remove the pulp
Cut the bottom of the pumpkin for a cleaner look, if you using a battery powered candle inside
If you have a smaller pumpkin, be sure to resize the pattern to fit the face of your pumpkin
Rub vegetable oil or vaseline on your carved pumpkin to preserve it longer. Put it anywhere you have carved or made cuts.
